This lecture is part of the year-long series, World War I: The Forgotten War. It is presented by the Robinson-Spangler Carolina Room, The Charlotte Museum of History, and UNC Charlotte.
Dr. Janet Hudson is a professor at the University of South Carolina at Columbia. For a number of years, she has been gathering information on the role of Black soldiers from North Carolina in World War I. Although her research has uncovered the service of these men all over the country, this program will concentrate on the men and the units who trained at Camp Greene.
