The Fourth Annual Civil War Symposium centers on the wartime experiences of those who lived in North and South Carolina.

9:00 am Olivia Black, Beyond the First Shots: Fort Sumter’s Role in the Defense of Charleston Harbor:1861-1865.
10:00 am Dr. Rodney Steward, The Rise and Fall of the Southern Rights Party: Revisiting Secession in North Carolina.
11:00 am Ken Lautzenheiser, The North Carolina Memories of Matilda Lamb Morton.
12:00 pm Lunch.
1:00 pm Charen Bishop Fink, The Roles of Civil War Women in the Carolinas: 1861-1865.
2:00 pm Q & A moderated by Dr. Jim Sasser.
3:00 pm Symposium Concludes.
