NC Science Festival: Rookie Science: Survival Skills

  • When: Monday, April 2, 2018,  1:30 pm -  2:30 pm
  • Location: 300 East Seventh Street Charlotte, NC 28202.

Discover the world of science through books, hands-on educational activities, and experiments. In honor of the NC Science Festival, school aged kids and tweens will play games and do activities themed around survival skills. Do you think you have what it takes to survive in the wilderness? We will read from the interactive Choose Your Own Adventure book “Can You Survive the Jungle?” to determine our fate. We’ll discuss a variety of animal survival tactics, from what you should do when a lion charges to how to survive a cobra bite. Participants will then practice their fort building skills, learn how to build a fire, and explore the contents of a survival kit.

School Age (5-11).
Preteen (10-11).
