This program is offered in conjunction with the TEN DAYS OF UWHARRIE, North Carolina's Official Outdoor Festival! The evening begins in the auditorium with our "What's Up!" presentation at 7pm. This will provide information about what to look for that night and a little folk lore associated with it. Then, join us outside for an evening beneath one of the last great dark sky sites in the North Carolina piedmont. Site telescopes will be available, or bring your own to observe the waning gibbous(nearly full) Moon, Mars and Saturn. Notable constellations include Hercules, Cassiopeia and Cygnus. Participants should dress for the weather and may wish to bring a red light to help them see in the darkness. Chairs and blankets welcome!
