Located 20 miles north of Charlotte, NC, we are a small college town with engaged and active citizens who care deeply about their community. We have a mayor, board of commissioners, manager, and staff, all dedicated to providing residents with a high quality of life.

We appreciate Davidson's great "sense of community." We are home to Davidson College, with a certified arboretum and remarkable students who contribute to the life of the town. We are a pedestrian and bicycle-friendly town with a vibrant business district, historic downtown, and a calendar full of community events. We believe in sustainable open space, racial and economic diversity, environmental stewardship and promoting the health and wellness of our citizens. We welcome residents and visitors alike.

Davidson is built for pedestrians and bike riders, not for the car. No drive-thrus are allowed here. We believe in connectivity and walkable streets.

We are passionate about diversity. We require that 12.5% of all new development is affordable to encourage all types of homes and all types of citizens (or we accept a payment-in-lieu for future affordable housing).
