Although there is no day camp option, I couldn't help but mention overnight camp at YMCA Camp Harrison for an unforgettable experience. Located just 90 miles from Charlotte, YMCA Camp Harrison boast 2,000 acres of wooded land, streams and trails. Campers love the mix of fun on land and water. They can go mountain biking, paintballing, adventure hiking and scale the climbing wall land one day, then going boating, fishing, paddle boarding and swimming on the water the next!

The Brace Family YMCA offers summer day camp at the Hemby Program Center that gives children the unforgettable outdoor experience of overnight camp. Nestled in the woods of south Charlotte, the Hemby Program Center boasts 21 acres of limitless opportunities for campers. They'll spend their days enjoying wooded hiking trails, rock climbing, zip-line and aerial challenge courses among other fantastic amenities.

Summer day camp at the Ballantyne Arts Center is the perfect place to create. The 9,000 square foot facility is an extension of the Morrison Family Y and is filled with chances for campers to show their artistic side. Whether they're in a ballet camp dancing with grace, a theatre camp getting in character to captivate an audience, or an improv troupe nailing a punchline, true art and artists are made at the BAC.
