Children's Theatre of Charlotte Dance Classes and Private Acting and Voice Lessons

Whether or not you are a student studying with us at the School of Theatre Training (SOTT), building your confidence and enhancing your skills is something every performer needs. Our education department recognizes consistent dance training is critical to an actor’s development and many young performers are not confident in their singing skills or acting skills. With our dances classes and private lessons, you can build that confidence and skill in a low pressure setting. Options available for online or in-person.
Broadway Beginning Dance | Grades 5 through 12
Fall Session (10 weeks) | Oct. 3 - Dec. 12, 2020
Winter Session (10 weeks) | Jan. 9 - Mar. 13, 2021
You’ll have a blast laying the foundations in this beginner-level dance experience! Class mixes elements from ballet and jazz styles while exploring across-the-floor exercises and dance combinations. Students will increase their body awareness and build confidence in dance terminology.
Online Private Voice Lessons | Grades 5 through 12
Fall Session (5 weeks) | Sept. 30 - Oct. 31, 2020 | Nov. 4 - Dec. 12, 2020
Winter Session (5 weeks) | Jan. 6 - Feb. 6, 2021 | Feb. 10 - Mar. 13, 2021
Students receive five half-hour lessons taught one-on-one via Zoom* with our vocal performance professionals. Students focus on resonance, breath control, intonation and development of their higher and lower registers.
Private Acting Coach | Grades 5 through 12
Fall Session (5 weeks) | Oct. 3 - 31, 2020 | Nov. 7 - Dec. 12, 2020
Winter Session (5 weeks) | Jan. 9 - Feb. 6, 2021 | Feb. 13 - Mar. 13, 2021
Students receive five half-hour lessons taught one-on-one with our coaches. Together we will break down the scene or monologue, identify what you are trying to accomplish, and then work the material until you have the confidence to deliver it in a powerful, truthful way.
