 uring a special book club and vendor pop-up hosted by Archive CLT. Families
  can participate in hands-on arts and crafts activities inspired by the sym
 bols and history of Juneteenth, while art lovers can witness a live paintin
 g activation by Charlotte based artist Curtis King.\n\nThroughout the day, 
 explore the Harvey B. Gantt Center through guided tours, attend a screening
  of the PBS documentary Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom, and deepen your unders
 tanding of the holiday during an engaging panel discussion featuring local 
 historians and scholars. The celebration culminates with a special musical 
 performance by A Sign of the Times, honoring the rich legacy and global inf
 luence of the African diaspora through music.\n\nWhether you're learning ab
 out Juneteenth for the first time or continuing a long-held tradition of ce
 lebration, Juneteenth 2026 at the Gantt offers meaningful opportunities to

  & Vendor Pop-Up with Archive CLT\n12 noon - 4 pm (Museum Store, 1st Floor)
 \n\nJoin Archive CLT in our Museum Store as they highlight a special Junete
 enth related book discussion. They will also be set up to sell drinks inclu
 ding chai and iced coffee throughout the afternoon.\n\nDigital Textiles: Pa
 tterns of the Diaspora\n12 noon - 4 pm (MODA Studio, 2nd Floor)\n\nParticip
 ants will explore the rich visual traditions of African diasporic textiles 
 by creating their own digital illustrations in Procreate inspired by patter
 ns, color, symbolism, and storytelling found across African and African Ame
 rican textile traditions. Through this drop-in activity, participants will 
 reflect on themes of identity, resilience, cultural memory, and creative ex
 pression in celebration of Juneteenth.\n\nVendor Marketplace\n12 noon - 4 p

 te based artist, Curtis King, will be doing a live painting activation in t
 he Grand Lobby. This activation is perfect for guests of all ages to watch 
 a painting come to life and ask questions throughout the process.\n\nFilm S
 creening: Juneteenth Faith & Freedom\n12 noon - 1 pm (Performance Suite, 2n
 d Floor)\n\nThis PBS documentary follows the journey of a Black man as he t
 ravels throughout Texas to learn more about the legacy of American slavery 
 and the Juneteenth holiday.\n\nThe Juneteenth Mix with DJ Micki Blendz\n1 p
 m - 2 pm (Grand Lobby, 2nd Floor)\n\nDJ Micki Blendz is bringing the soundt
 rack to your summer with classic cookout hits, feel-good throwbacks, and cr
 owd favorites. Come dance, sing along, or simply enjoy the vibes.\n\nPanel 
 Discussion: The History of Juneteenth\n2 pm - 3 pm (Performance Suite, 2nd 
 Floor)\n\nLearn more about the history of Juneteenth in this educational pa
 nel discussion with local professors & historians. Moderated by Dr. Sonya R
 amsey, the panelists include Dr. Willie Griffin, Dr. Janaka Lewis, and Earl
  L. Ijames.\n\nFinal Performance: A Sign of the Times\n3 pm - 4 pm (Grand L
 obby, 2nd Floor)\n\nA Sign of the Times will close the Juneteenth celebrati
 on with a special music performance to honor the legacy of the African Dias
