X-EXTRAINFO:About Southern Black Girls\nFounded by LaTosha Brown in 2017, Southern Blac
k Girls and Women's Consortium was created to close a long-standing gap: Bl
ack girls, women, and femme identifying communities in the South have histo
rically been underfunded and overlooked, despite carrying so much of the re
gion's promise. Southern Black Girls supports the nonprofit organizations s
erving them across 13 Southern states, channeling resources to the communit
ies that need them most. To date, it has awarded more than $11.4 million to
  over 250 organizations, and over $600,000 in micro-grants to 1,000 girls t
hrough the #BlackGirlJoyChallenge, because if you change the life of a Blac
k girl, you change the world!
