Put the run in Pa-run Pum Pum Pum! The Santa Hustle 5K and half marathon are coming soon! You don’t want to miss this magical race on December 22, 2018, which begins and ends in downtown Belmont. The Santa Hustle creates an exciting environment for participants and spectators of all ages, while embracing the reason for the season!
This event, which is embarking upon its first year ever in Belmont, North Carolina, is proud to announce McDonald’s in Belmont, North Carolina as its presenting sponsor. This McDonald’s, located at 505 N. Main Street in Belmont, will be the race packet pick up location on December 21. Participants who are already registered are welcome to pick up their race swag from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. the day before the race and skip the lines on race day. McDonald’s will also be providing hot coffee and water for all of the runners on race day.
This year’s 5k and half marathon participants will receive a Santa hat, beard and a performance hoodie to wear while running, a finisher medal, and new for 2018 - the option to add on the Mrs. Claus package, which includes a red tutu, arm warmers, candy cane socks and two face tattoos.
According to the Santa Hustle Race Series founder, Aaron Del Mar, “The Santa Hustle atmosphere is unlike any other, and is much more than just a race-it’s an experience that creates lasting memories.”
Cookie and candy stations, along with holiday music and cheer, will abound along the course. After the race will be an awards ceremony where awards will be given for the best individual and group costume, as well as winners in each of the race categories who can boast, toast and sing holiday carols off key!
Santa Hustle also makes a difference in the lives of others. The race will donate a portion of the profits to Communities in Schools of Gaston County. Their mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. The event also is an official drop-off spot for unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program.
