Gold Mine Barbecue Festival
- When: Saturday, April 13, 2019, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
- Location: Reed Gold Mine, 9621 Reed Mine Rd. Midland, N.C.
- Cost: Presale tickets for adults are $17 and day of tickets are $20. For Children 12 and under, tickets are $10 presale and $12 at the door. Remember, the tickets are only required to eat - everything else is free.
The 1st Annual Gold Mine Barbecue Festival will be held at Reed Gold Mine on April 13th. To celebrate the history of barbecue in North Carolina, we have a large exhibit and 5 local barbecue restaurants will be on site providing demonstrations and extra information. Viewing the barbecue exhibit is free of charge.
In addition to the barbecue festivities, all the normal offerings at Reed Gold Mine are available. Underground tours, the museum, the Stamp Mill, and the trails are all free of charge. Panning for gold is $3 plus tax per pan and is available for children over 8 years old. Younger children can work with a parent or adult.o an opportunity to try Midwood Smokehouse, Queen City Q, The Smoke Pit, Johnny Rogers, and Carolina Barbecue Company all in one place! With a food ticket, you can sample barbecue, a side, and a desert from each of the 5 restaurants, plus you'll get a soda, bottled water, or cup of sweet tea.
All proceeds from this event go to support Reed Gold Mine State Historic Site through their nonprofit support group the Reed Expansion Committee.

Food Service will run from 11-1:30. A ticket is required to receive food. No food sales will be made outside of tickets - but don't worry, a ticket should provide plenty for lunch!
