SCNP Black History Nature Series: Hiking for the Culture

  • When: Saturday, February 6, 2021, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • Location: Stevens Creek Nature Preserve and Center, Charlotte NC.
  • Cost: Free

Kick off Black History Month with a hike "for the culture" as we explore our local nature preserve, pay homage to African-American pioneers and organizations in outdoors spaces, and live #blackinnature. Pre-registration required by 1/5/21
Additional Date and time and theme for this program is February 20 10am to 11:30am theme is Black Girl Magic.
Notes: This qualifies for the 100-Mile Hike Club; be prepared to hike 2-4 miles over easy to moderate terrain. Bring water and dress for the weather.
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation follows all CDC guidelines and Governor’s orders. Participants are expected to wear a mask indoors at all times and outdoors if social distancing guidelines cannot be met. Participants may be less than 6’ apart during an outdoor program. At that time, we will ask everyone to wear a mask. If you cannot, you will be asked to stand more than 6’ away.
