  • When: Sunday, February 14, 2021,  8:00 am - 10:00 am
  • Location: Stevens Creek Nature Preserve and Center, Charlotte NC.
  • Cost: Free

Take part in the Great Backyard Bird Count, a nation-wide event that engages bird-watchers of all ages in citizen-based science. After adjusting your binoculars and reviewing the basics of bird ID, follow 'Birdman Matt' on a search for native and migratory birds. Numbers and species sighted will be recorded and shared with the Audubon Society to create a real-time snapshot of what birds are in the preserve. For more information, visit www.audubon.org.
Notes: Pre-registration is required by 2/12/21. You can borrow our binoculars or bring your own pair. Dress to hike 1-2 miles and bring a water bottle.
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation follows all CDC guidelines and Governor’s orders. Participants are expected to wear a mask indoors at all times and outdoors if social distancing guidelines cannot be met. Participants may be less than 6’ apart during an outdoor program. At that time, we will ask everyone to wear a mask. If you cannot, you will be asked to stand more than 6’ away.
