Sweet Spot StudioTeen Baking & Pastry Arts Intensive Summer Workshop

- Cost: $1200 per student. Payment plans are available with a $200 nonrefundable deposit to secure registration.
This two-week long workshop is suited for kids and teens ages 11-18 who are interested in pursuing a career in the baking and pastry arts; and are seeking to develop their skills and gain experience that will allow them to continue onto culinary school or work in a professional bakery/restaurant setting.
Our goal is not only to advance our students’ pastry skills, but also to educate them and their parents on what a career in the baking and pastry arts realistically looks like. We will explore different educational and career paths, and have guest pastry chefs in Charlotte come to tell their stories. At the end of the program each student will be placed with a chef in a professional kitchen for an “internship” day.
Skills Covered (included but not limited to)
- French Pastry Classics : Macaron, Laminated Dough, Entremet
- Breads: Poolish, Biga, Ciabatta, Sourdough, Brioche, Bagels
- Decorating: Cakes, Cookies, Cupcakes
- Baking Math: Converting recipes, Bakers Percentages
- Proper measuring techniques
- Proper kitchen sanitation and cleanup
- Kitchen etiquette and working as a team
Registration Includes

- Approval to take any of our public classes without an adult present regardless of age.
- 10% discount on public classes for one year, excluding boot camps and specialty workshops.
- Once a student has completed the program, they will continue to be a part of the Sweet Spot Family. Benefits include any future letters of recommendation needed, mentee relationships with Chefs Jossie & Alyssa, and paid employment opportunities during busy seasons.

Application Process
- Admission will be on a rolling basis. You will receive a response within 1 week.
- The number one thing we look for in applicants is a desire to learn in a professional environment.
- Students should be able to confidently bake independently at home.
