Silent Streets Opening Celebration

An all afternoon street party on Levine Avenue for the Arts and the Wells Fargo Plaza!
1 PM: Jen-Sudul Edwards, PhD, chief curator and curator of contemporary art at The Mint Museum, leads a conversation with the commissioned artists Amy Bagwell, Stacy Lynn Waddell, and Antoine Williams.
2-5 PM: Ruben Natal-San Miguel, the artist whose works are featured in the online exhibition Women R Beautiful, will take street portraits 2-5 PM for the upcoming online exhibition Charlotte is Beautiful.
3 & 5 PM: The beloved Charlotte-indie band Junior Astronomers performs.
4 PM: Enjoy a spoken word performance by Bluz Rogers at 4 PM.
Throughout the afternoon, see painting demonstrations by local artists Jamil Dyair Steele, John Hairston, Jr., Bree Stallings, and Curtis King along Levine Avenue of the Arts, as well as Nellie Ashford inside The Mint Museum Store.
Food trucks will join Reids and Fin & Fino outdoor dining.
