Charlotte Monarch Celebration

Join us Saturday September 22nd in First Ward Park for the second annual Charlotte Monarch Celebration! This free event is a celebration of monarch butterflies, pollinators, and wildlife habitats! The morning will include a pollinator parade, monarch tagging demonstration, garden tours, seed giveaways, arts and crafts activities, and more. You can even have your photo taken with Ranger Rick! This event is an opportunity to learn about and celebrate the beautiful pollinators surrounding us every day- take home the knowledge to install your own backyard wildlife habitat perfect for monarchs and other pollinators alike. Family Friendly!

The Charlotte Monarch Festival is brought to you by the North Carolina Wildlife Federation and Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation. Partners include MCPR Rec Centers, MCPR Horticulture, City of Charlotte Horticulture and Sustainability, National Wildlife Federation, UNC Charlotte Botanical Garden and Pollinator Club, NC Native Plant Society, Meck Audubon, TreesCharlotte, Carolina Thread Trail/Catawba Lands Conservancy, Pop Up Produce, Central Carolinas Master Naturalists, Honeybee Real Estate, Charlotte Area NC Air Awareness, Meck Soil and Water, League of Conservation Voters, Storm Water and Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.
