Town Creek Under the Stars - Return of Wintermaker

• When: Saturday, January 5, 2019,  6:30 pm -  9:30 pm
  
• Location: Town Creek Indian Mound NC Historic Site 509 Town Creek Mound Rd, Mount Gilead, North Carolina 27306.

Join us for an evening beneath one of the last great dark sky sites in the North Carolina piedmont! The event kicks off at 6:30pm with the auditorium presentation “What’s Up?” – an introduction to the planisphere, an overview of sights to be seen this evening, and some of the lore surrounding them. Then, beginning at 7pm, Site telescopes will be available, or bring your own to observe the Orion Nebula, and constellations including Orion, Taurus, and the Pleiades. Participants should dress for the cold and may wish to bring a red light to help them see in the darkness. Chairs and blankets welcome!
