Homeschooled children ages 5-11 will explore STEAM activities. This month, in honor of Sherlock Holmes birthday on January 6, 1854 and Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on January 9th, school aged kids and tweens will read books, play games and do activities themed around forensics and the five senses! Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar? Not me, not you; then who? From 11:00-12:00, learn about forensics, otherwise known as the art of using clues, to complete a story. Police departments use forensic science to solve crimes. Work with other homeschoolers to finish writing a collaborative mystery! From 12:00-1:00, we'll investigate and test your five senses with activities like scent matching, sound effect identification, optical illusions, and a jelly bean taste test. These back-to-back programs will have a (very) slight break in between, so please feel free to bring a snack; you are welcome to join for just one program, or wed love you to stay for both. This year we are requiring registration and capping at 50, so sign up now!
