Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation’s most enchanting family event of 2019 – the Fairy House Festival – is just around the corner and now is the time to grab your ticket.
The annual festival, which draws thousands each year, will take place at Latta Nature Center and Preserve on Saturday, Feb. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain, snow or shine.
During the festival, participants will be able to build fairy houses using natural materials from the forest. Other activities include crafts, games, activities, storytelling and much more.
Individuals interested in attending the festival will need to purchase a ticket prior to the event. Tickets are $5 per person for ages 5 and up and free for children 4 and under. Tickets can be purchased at all three nature centers (Latta, McDowell or Reedy Creek) or online at www.parkandrec.com. Tickets will sell quickly and will not be sold the day of the event. The nature center and preserve will be open for other activities, but due to the festival, parking will be limited.
