Aquarium Guided Tour at Discovery Place Kids Science

  • When: Saturday, February 29, 2020, 12:00 pm
  • Location: 301 N Tryon St Charlotte, NC 28202

Ever wonder why coral is so brightly colored?
Oceans cover roughly 71% of Earth’s surface, but less than 10% of the oceans have been explored by humans. Join a Discovery Place Science educator on a tour of the World Alive aquarium and dive into an exploration of our amazing underwater world while getting to know some of the Museum's most intriguing residents.

Notice how different habitats affect marine adaptations as you observe tropical fish in the Indo-Pacific Reef tank and local fish from the North Carolina coastline. Get to know the Mantis Shrimp, a vibrant animal who can strike at 50 mph and see 10x more color than humans.

Wondering how jellyfish eat or why coral is so brightly colored? Don't be afraid to ask questions throughout the tour. Our live care team is excited to share their knowledge with you.
