Kids Kayaking 101 at Anne Springs Close Greenway

This class is geared towards children ages 8-15yo and is designed to introduce them to the sport of kayaking. We will meet at the Kayak Launch and start by covering kayak safety and how to fit your PFD. We will make sure everyone is comfortable before heading out on the water where we will cover some basic paddling technique, teaching paddlers how to move forward, turn, stop their boats and how to reverse. This session is intended to create a positive and safe atmosphere for kids to learn to kayak!

Where: Lake Haigler Kayak Launch
Ages: Participants must be between 8 and 15 years old. Parents do not need to paddle with us but must remain nearby the kayak launch and provide an emergency contact number.
Cost: $30 with a $5 discount for members
