Boo at the NC Zoo - Socially Distanced!

  • When: Sunday, October 25, 2020, 10:00 am -  4:00 pm
  • Location: North Carolina Zoo 4401 Zoo Pkwy, Asheboro, North Carolina 27205

Celebrate Halloween with us! This year's Boo will be a little different, socially distanced, and re-imagined for 2020!
Timed-entry ticket reservations for admission may be ordered online or Society Members call 336-879-7250; Non-Members call 336-879-7700.
** Wristbands for Boo at the Zoo may be purchased, for $5, only at the Zoo's Admission gates on the day of the event.**
Boo at the NC Zoo is an outdoor, Covid-safe alternative for daytime Halloween celebration. Using CDC and DHHS safety protocols, guests will journey through the outdoor, mostly one-way experience on the Zoo’s pathways.
Families that pay for a Boo wristband will enjoy the following activities:
- Socially distanced trick-or-treating at stations along the pathways
- Live music
- A souvenir photo
- Pumpkin Palooza (animals with pumpkin enrichment)
- Treehouse trek admission
- Carousel rides if it is open
- Seasonal photo ops and more!
Please include a cloth face-covering in your child’s costume (a costume face mask does not replace a proper face-covering). Cloth face coverings are required for all guests over the age of 5 at all animal overlooks, inside buildings, and wherever social distancing is not possible.
How we're doing Boo safely:
- Candy will be put in children’s bags through “treat tubes and shoots” that keeps kids from putting their hands in buckets of candy. This will keep the volunteer and guests 6 feet apart.
- Volunteers will be wearing all PPE required, such as masks and gloves.
- All activities will be family-friendly and will not involve screaming or other high-risk activities.
