SCNP: Family Spring Bird Hike

  • When: Sunday, April 10, 2022,  9:00 am - 11:00 am
  • Location: Stevens Creek Nature Center
  • Cost: Free

Fly with your flock to Stevens Creek and search the skies for birds making their spring migration. Sparrows abound in the grassy fields, hummingbirds and tree swallows may be spotted zipping around, and sweet-songed warblers may be heard in the trees. 'Birdman Matt' will guide you to his favorite spots and help ID birds by sight and sound. All experience levels welcome.
Notes: Pre-registration required for all participants (adult and child alike) 3 days before start of program. No birdwatching experience needed; bring your binoculars or borrow a pair from us. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy hiking shoes; be prepared to walk 1-2 miles over easy-moderate natural surface trails.
Per updated Mecklenburg County guidelines, as of February 26, 2022, masks are optional while inside all county buildings. If you are participating in a Park & Recreation program that travels in a van/bus, masks will still be required; you will receive additional information in advance of each program.
