Family Day at McColl Center is fun for all ages! Join us for a variety of creative experiences with our current Artists in Residence. Adrian Rhodes will host a printmaking lesson using her woodcut blocks and will explain the printmaking process; Asa Jackson will coordinate the construction of a tapestry that sews together the stories and fabrics of participants; Carlie Trosclair will conduct a hands-on experience of painting with latex to create an architectural skin that explores the building’s life; and Johnny Floyd will open his studio and share his paintings and thoughts with all. Once you've taken part in all the different art stations, explore the galleries with a special scavenger hunt and have the chance to win a prize!
Bring a piece of fabric or clothing that has meaning to you that can be cut into pieces for inclusion in the community tapestry.
Family Day is free and open to all thanks to the generosity of Atrium Health.
