
McAlpine Lake is three acres in size and has a depth range of 1-9 feet. It contains channel catfish, largemouth bass and bluegill. Fishers are limited to a catch of six catfish and five bass — three of which must be a minimum of 14 inches.
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation offers several locations to fish across the county. According to the NC Wildlife Commission, individuals 16 years of age or older using any type of bait or gear to catch finfish while fishing in North Carolina’s public waters must possess a valid North Carolina fishing license.
