Every successful youth volleyball program must provide each player the opportunity to become the best individual and team player she is capable of becoming. As each individual is blessed with different abilities and talents, this implies providing fair, but not always the same opportunities, for each player to strive to achieve her own personal best. Moreover, it is during the struggle to achieve this personal success that lasting life lessons like perseverance, self-confidence, and humility are learned. Stewards of the Game, or any youth sports program, can only build these important character traits and lasting life lessons within a framework that encourages and challenges each individual to become the best she is capable of becoming. Growth, be it physical or spiritual, requires struggle.
