Kids Under 12 Ride for Half Off Every Day

Make memories and save money when you take the kids on a journey they’ll never forget. They'll experience the wonder of the train, while you enjoy a trip without baggage fees or traffic.
All children age 2-12 can travel at 50 percent off the adult fare.

Infants Ride Free: One infant under the age of two may ride free with each passenger paying an adult fare. Free infants ride on lap of the adult. Additional infants per adult travel at the child fare.
Discount Restrictions

Passengers ages 12 and under must travel with an adult passenger who is at least 18 years old.
Children traveling alone are not entitled to a children's discount.
Not valid for travel on certain Amtrak Thruway connecting services.
Additional restrictions may apply.
All fares are for one-way travel. (Example: Round trip kids fare special will be $10.)
One-day advance purchase required
Cannot be combined with other adult discounts (senior, State employee, etc.)
Promotion runs June 1-Aug. 31, 2022
Valid for travel on the Piedmont and Carolinian trains within North Carolina
Not valid for travel on June 17, June 20, July 1 and July 4
