Join us during sensory-friendly hours where families can experience Discovery Place Science in a calmer, quieter environment.
We’ve crafted these low-sensory hours for families with sensory sensitivities and special needs to enjoy the Museum’s hands-on exhibit spaces in a calmer and quieter environment.
During your visit to the Museum, families can experience a sensory-friendly IMAX show or even check out sensory backpacks with noise-canceling headphones, sensory-friendly toys and manipulatives.
Additionally, throughout the Museum, you’ll find special SciPod stations offering minds-on activities designed to engage multiple senses. The SciPod experiments provide an inclusive way for all guests with sensory sensitivities, to enjoy and learn from our exhibits.
We invite all children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Sensory Processing Disorders and vision or hearing impairments and their caregivers to interact with our experiences.
Backpacks are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Supplies are limited.
Sensory-friendly hours are monthly and continue on the first Sunday of every month.
There are several discounts available at Discovery Place Science.
