Matthews Alive Festival

• When: Sunday, August 31, 2025,  1:00 pm - 10:00 pm
  
• Location: Stumptown Park, at the corner of John and Trade Streets in Historic Downtown Matthews
• Cost: Admission is free. Tickets are required for the carnival rides, games, and inflatable attractions, and can be purchased on-site. An “all you can ride” wristband is available on Friday, starting at 4 p.m.

Mark your calendars — the beloved Matthews Alive festival is back for Labor Day weekend 2025! This family-friendly event will take place from Friday, August 29, through Monday, September 1, at Stumptown Park, located at the corner of John and Trade Streets in Historic Downtown Matthews.

A long-standing tradition in the Charlotte area, Matthews Alive celebrates community spirit by supporting local non-profit organizations through music, art, and volunteerism.

Festival highlights include:

-Three stages of live music
-Rides and carnival games
-The Small Shops marketplace (formerly known as the Arts & Crafts Pavilion)
-Food and beverage vendors
-A Kids’ Zone
-The annual Labor Day Parade
