Each year, The Juneteenth Festival of The Carolinas celebrates the end of slavery, and the African American community is taking the opportunity to come together to reflect on and remember the historical event. The Juneteenth committee proudly schedules events that are carefully selected to maximize the experience for all who attend. This year is no different! June 18
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Youth Culture Camp at First United Methodist Church, 501 N Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC
June 19
6 p.m.: Community Drum Circle at House of Africa
June 20
11 a.m.: Freedom March, begins at Skyla Credit Union, 718 Central Avenue, ends at House of Africa
12 to 10 p.m.: Juneteenth Festival Day, includes live music, vendors, family activities, food, more
June 21
11 a.m. to 9 p .m.: Gospel Fest, live entertainment and closing ceremony
