Just got back from the most incredible summer vacation, and we simply HAD to share it with you! We whisked the family away to a hidden gem just a short drive from Charlotte: The Omni Homestead Resort in Virginia.
Let me tell you, this place has something for EVERYONE! We did so much during our stay, but we each have our favorite pick from the endless list of activities:
- Dad: Loved the warm soak at the Hot Springs Pools.
- Little Dude (youngest): Became a true cowboy with his Family Trail horsebackride. He's still talking about his trusty steed and the breathtaking mountain views.
- Big Dude (oldest): Found his zen with some fly fishing lessons. Now he's hooked (punintended!) on this peaceful outdoor adventure.
- Me: Totally conquered my fear of heights with some zip-lining. The exhilarating rushand stunning scenery were unforgettable!
But wait, there's more! The Omni Homestead offers so much more than just activities. We spent some quality time relaxing by the two-acre pool (seriously, those slides are epic and the lazy river no words!), and the kids had a blast at the Kids Club while we enjoyed some adult time with a wine tasting overlooking the majestic mountains.
Evenings were just as magical! We enjoyed family movie nights at the on-site theater, complete with buttery popcorn. After a day filled with adventures, we loved relaxing on the lawn with some friendly competition in lawn games while I unwound in a hammock with a good book.
Speaking of mountains, the views are breathtaking! The resort itself is charming, with plenty of restaurants to choose from. We had a fancy night out at Jefferson's Restaurant, followed by some family fun at the arcade.
