Matthews Playhouse of Performing Arts

Matthews Playhouse is a non profit theatre that has worked to bring quality performing arts to Mecklenburg and Union Counties for over 25 years. The Playhouse consist of Theatre for Young People and Matthews Playhouse Educational Programs.

Did you know live theatre encourages students to read, stimulates the imagination, and strengthens problem-solving and critical thinking skills? Matthews Playhouse offers weekday school performances to enhance and support classroom curriculum for school & homeschool groups of 20 or more.

Homeschool Classes:
Discover the joy of the arts with our Homeschool Program at Matthews Playhouse! Designed for students ages 4–15, our Tuesday afternoon classes offer a creative outlet through Art and Musical Theatre. Whether your child is expressing themselves through movement, music, or visual art, our program is a fun and inspiring way to explore new skills and build confidence.
