Ballantyne Theatre Performance Company (3rd-12th grade) The Ballantyne Theatre Performance Company provides an intensive theatre training and performance program for youth interested in the craft of acting or musical theatre and performance. Students develop theatre technique and vocabulary in the first 5-week classes and then apply their knowledge by auditioning, rehearsing and performing a show. Classes conclude with a professionally supported production applying the techniques studied in class! Each year features new productions!
Performance Company - Acting Create a solid foundation of theatre skills and vocabulary through improvisation, scene studies, ensemble work and audition techniques. During class work, students will be broken into skill based groups to appropriately grow and challenge the range of experience. This year’s play production is Brave Little Tailor.
Performance Company – Musical Theatre Create a solid foundation of musical theatre skills and vocabulary through acting the song, basic voice work, scene study, ensemble work and audition techniques. During class work, students will be broken into skill based groups to appropriately grow and challenge the range of experience. This year’s musical production is A Year with Frog and Toad.
Youth Theatre Productions (2nd-12th grade)
The Ballantyne Arts Center provides production opportunities throughout the year for youth interested in performance. The rehearsal process utilizes an educational approach, providing theatrical training and direct application in a fun yet challenging environment. Professional directors, stage managers, and theatrical design teams support these quality productions featuring young performers. Opportunities vary including touring companies and in house productions. Casting is by audition only. Check back periodically for new audition opportunities!
