Art & Orchids featuring Stickwork at DSBG

Using a simple technique of bending and interweaving sticks, NC artist Patrick Dougherty has created over 300 whimsical sculptures. Discover 17 photographs of his large-scale interactive works on display in addition to Patrick’s latest installation, The Magnificent Seven, constructed at the Garden in 2019. Wander through the seven rooms of woven sticks and twigs, peer through the windows and skylights, and let your imagination run wild! The Orchid Conservatory will also feature a collection of showy orchids in bloom and the Garden’s own woven sculptures inspired by Patrick’s work.
