Inner Peaks Summer Camps
Ideal for young beginner climbers, this is an introductory camp for kids age 7-10 who want a basic, fun introduction to the world of rock climbing. New Rockers is comprised of five, 6-hour days at an Inner Peaks facility and includes a hike and Parent’s Day on Friday.
Campers will learn basic rock climbing and knot skills and will have lots of fun playing games, climbing and doing some indoor rappelling!
Ideal for our slightly older young beginner climbers, this is a camp for kids age 10-14 who have never climbed before or are newer to the world of rock climbing. Wall crawlers is comprised of five, 8-hour days primarily at an Inner Peaks gym (with a tentative outdoor climbing day at Crowders Mountain, weather permitting), and includes a Parent’s Day on Friday.
Campers will learn rock climbing skills, movement, & technique, and will have some less structured time playing climbing games. Campers will also learn rope management skills as well as how to top rope belay using assisted braking devices.
Our current summer camp schedule and structure is based on North Carolina’s COVID-19 Phase 2 requirements and restrictions. As we saw with Summer 2020, things can change unexpectedly. Inner Peaks reserves the right to make necessary changes to summer camps due to the pandemic and will communicate any changes to camp parents as soon as possible.
We will send out finalized confirmation emails to anyone who has paid a deposit 6 weeks in advance of the session you are registered for with a more specific camp outline. Similar to last year, we will plan for the following precautions:
Face masks must be worn over the nose and mouth at all times while indoors (including while climbing).
We will plan physically distanced activities
We will take all lunch and snack breaks outdoors (no food may be consumed inside the gym)
Frequent hand washing and sanitizer use will be required.
