Gemstone Mining Program!
- When: Monday, August 24, 2020, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
- Location: The Schiele Museum of Natural History, Charlotte NC.
Participate in The Schiele's Gemstone Mining program where you'll learn about the differences in rocks, gems, and minerals before you head to the sluice to find your own treasures!
Miners get to keep what they find!
Ticket purchase includes:
* program on Rocks, Gems & Minerals
* basket of mixed materials to use in sluice
* access to The Farm
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Each person will require a ticket.
This event takes place outdoors.
Education program is approximately 10 - 15 minutes long.
Sluice activity is approx. 15 minutes, and staff will be on hand to help identify materials.
Participants can take home what they find!
Each participant will need to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
**Limited tickets available for each session.**
Please arrive approximately 15 minutes prior to your scheduled program to check-in at the front desk and travel to the program location.
Each participant receives a basket with a scoop of the pre-mixed materials, so the quantity and types of gems found will vary.
